Fished for crappie and decent keepers were hard to come by, but we had lots of fun. The eagle family has returned and are nesting! Water temperature still in the 43-47 degree range, with muddy water. Many little ones to be had but keepers of any size are yet to show up in creels. Hopefully the water can clear up a bit and the bigger fish move up into shallower waters.

We were at MTL saturday too. We caught our limit but it took a while to do it. Had to keep moving. They were on the small side but when you drive 2 hours to get there you go with what you get. Got to here a boat hit some under water trees. Image They were going down the channel in Lick Creek and then you heard BANG. Oops. They kept on going so I guess they were OK. I am always amazed at the people flying up and down that creek channel because if you are off by a little bit you are going to smack a tree that you can't see. Image It was good to be out.

Got skunked again!

I think that lake hates me or something!

Last year I couldn't make a mistake. Catching fish almost every other cast!

Daffy, be patient it is still very early. You will catch good eating size fish, give it another week, Bruce.

Thanks Bruce.

I hate sitting in one spot if the fish are not cooperating (biting of course!) So with the water being muky as it is thought I would try different lures.

Had minnows and jigs then small plastic crawdads w/o success. Will see what happens when the water temps rises!
