Daylight savings time...

Saw where it might be extended into November in order to save energy. I would like that for sure as I always hate it when I can't run out of here and hunt for an hour or two. I doubt it will happen, however.

That would be a definate bonus for those who hunt close to where they work. Also for folks like me who hate getting up early. I would get an extra hour of sleep for morning hunts relatively speaking.

You dummazz, you wouldn't get an extra hour of sleep. The day's still going to be 24 hours, and there will still be the same amount of daylight and dark.

Rafe...I think he means he won't have to be in the woods til 6 vs. 5 or something like that. I meant what he knew.

But that still doesn't mean that he's gonna be going to bed an hour earlier. Time is time, regardless of what numbers you assign to it.

It's like saying that it's 300 degrees outside today. That's not really all that hot, if you're talking about the Kelvin scale.

Thank you Keith. That's exactly it. Rafe, did you see the relatively speaking part ?

Relatively speaking, you're a dummazz and such.

Ok, let me put it like this. If I have to be at work @ 08:00 and get up at 6:00am for instance and my body is used to that. Then I go hunting and I get up at 04:00am to be in the woods an hour before daybreak. With DST, daybreak occurs an hour later relative to the hour of day meaning I get up at 05:00am and closer to my normal awake time. Get it dumazzz ?

I'm with you Dennis..I dont care what time I go to bed, 6 feels better than 5 when the alarm goes off. Rafe, pick on someone your own size!

I've tried picking on people that were nearly my intellectual equal, but Einstein's been dead nearly 50 years.

So what you're saying is you lack the discipline to get in bed an hour earlier so you can get the same amount of sleep. You could have just said that to begin with.

Rafe,

This all sounds good in theory and such but the fact is, the human body doesn't work like that. For instance. If I go to bed at 10PM and get up at 5 for a total of 7 hours of sleep, I feel pretty good for the day. However, if I go to bed at 2AM and sleep until 9AM, I will feel like crap for the rest of the day. The mind has a comfort zone that is established by routine. If you break the routine it causes fatigue. I'm still with Dennis on this. You do realize that Einstein was borderline MR?

I'm not sure which theory is correct, but I have to agree with Rafe on one thing; there are 24 hours in a single day and not an hour more. What you make of it is your own business. Now, speaking of comfort zones and crap. I can sleep 12 good hours and wake up and feel like poopoo when I have to go to work. But, I can sleep six hours and be ready to rock if I think it is going to be a great day for bowhunting.

I spent much of the fall and winter in a tree watching Robin sleep. Didn't seem to matter what time he got to bed, once he sat down in his stand he was out like a light. At least when I was the camera guy I was above him and passed time by seeing how many sticks I could balance on his head before he woke up. My record was 9 and I look forward to challenging that record this fall.
