well got back sunday after spending a week vacation fishing bull shoals mainly for walleye's and did'nt do to bad for the beginner walleye fisherman that i am.
i did manage to catch my biggest walleye ever a 22 inch 3lber.
we caught a lot of walleye's everyday but they were all under the 18 inch minimum mostly 15 to 17 inches. but atleast i was catching them and maybe next year ill do even better after i get a few tournaments under my belt.
well im really looking forward to this coming weekend as this will be my first tournament.

Hmmmmm....this could be a dangerous character this weekend. Come slipping and sliding in, take our money, and go back to Omaha. I was told originally that the idea was to entice flatland tourister guys in, take all THEIR money, and send 'em home broke and hung over. It don't seem to be working out that way.

Alan....if you are asking about the walleyes caught during the PWT tourney in May, there is a whole series of posts that went up as soon as the vows of silence were lifted. Many of the walleyes were caught suspended over deep water off main lake points that also had standing timber. I think the average depth of the water was around a hundred feet, and the walleyes were holding about 40 to 50 feet down.
Later on, the bite moved a lot shallower and live bait took a lot of nice walleyes. The deep bite baits were mainly deep running Rapalas of various colors. The shallow bite was mainly night crawlers on spinner rigs. If you need more detail than that, you're going to have to get with the guys who actually were out on the water during the tournament. Several of us on the board here prefished with quite a few of the pros, but only three or four were in the actual tournament.

The walleyes we caught to win the MWAA tournament were suspended 30-40 feet deep in 100' of water over submerged trees off a main lake point.
During PWT tournament the fish moved shallow. I fished with Gary Parons and we caught them trolling crankbaits in 10-12 feet of water where they were chasing shad. We used the kicker motor in the shallow water and it didn't seem to spook the fish at all. We caught about 15 walleyes the day I fished with Gary and 8 were over the 18' minimum.

most of the walleye's we caught were pulling spinners behind bottom bouncers between 15 and 30 ft. of water.
the small cove straight across from the bull shoals lake boat dock is where i caught the 3 lber.
we caught quite a few trolling shad raps too.
if you have one of the hotspot maps look for the #3 lake marker thats where we caught most of the fish trolling between 25 and 30 ft of water.
we caught several straight out from the # 4 marker where there is a nice flat thats about 28 to 40 ft. deep.
