For the good of all

A commercial aircraft was packed to the brim, in route to its destination. About half-way through the trip, the pilot notices the instruments indicate a decrease in power. After several attempts to correct the underlying issue. The pilot makes the decision that the load must be lightened to avoid crashing. All the cargo is dumped thousands of feet to the ground below, yet the cargo drop was not enough to remedy the power reduction.
The pilot then calls for volunteers to sacrifice for the "greater good," by jumping from the plane. Of course, no one volunteers. So the pilot is left to decide a fair way to lighten the burden on the failing engine. He decides alphabetically is the most fair. He askes, "Are there any African-Americans on board?"
No one raises a hand.
"Okay, are there any Blacks on board?"
No response.
"How about Coloreds?"
No response.
Very quitely, a young black boy leans over to his father and asks, "Aren't we all three?"
The father replies, Shut the heck up, boy! Today we are the "N word" and just be glad we ain't Mexican.
