The guy was still pretty good at his job whether he was a pill popper or not. What do you think about that?

Yes he does.

Apparently Oxy's can lead to hearing loss as a side affect. Makes me wonder how long Rush was hooked on the darn things.

I had no idea that Oxycontin caused his hearing loss. I figure he had it because he had some type of degenerative hearing disorder that may have been caused by natural conditions.

Wait a minute.... Where did you hear about Oxy causing hearing loss? I'm an Oxy dealer... for crap's sake.

I heard that while Rush was being ripped for his Oxy addiction. Hearing loss comes from long periods of high exposure to the drug, from what I heard anyway.

Perhaps, that information was unresearched. I just asked our pharmacist and she has never heard of such nor do any of the drug books mention hearing deficits as a side effect for extended use or even toxicity. So.....

Probably just made up BS from people who wish to attack him.

I'll check a few more sources, though. Image

Pharmacists don't know anything, they're just pill pushers.

Well, I was gonna let sleeping dogs lie, but I read the entire entry for Oxycontin and derivitives in the 2005 PDR (Physician's Desk Reference). There have been no documented cases of hearing loss related to Oxycontin use/abuse. FYI. Now granted, there aren't many/any studies out there with subjects taking the load he was on, but someone somewhere... should have experienced something more mild... don't ya think?

Perhaps, most retail pharmacists can only count, but mine, here at work, is a Pharm-D PhD.... so basically, she knows what she's talking about. Nice try, though! Image
