A few prayers please...
Elk's Lodge collapse
This was my hometown Elk's Lodge. I'm sure some of you have seen the story on the news. The one fatality was a great guy and leaves behind two small boys (2 and 5) and his wife. Two of those hospitalized are old school mates of mine. Both are expected to recover, but prayers can never hurt. Thanks.

Heard about it on other sites, so they're already on my prayer list.

LA, prayers on the way. I was just in front of that building last summer as we walked around the square. What a shame that had to happen.

Prayers sent for the entire Clinton community and the Elks....but especially for the Komer family.

Thanks, guys! Sometimes you just never know when your time might be up. Just remember to kiss your wives and hug your kids a little tighter.

That truly is a shame. Prayers from over here also.

They have my prayers.
The man who thinks he can, and the man who thinks he can't are both right.

That certainly was a bad deal, but I guess it sure could have been a lot worse.

Very true, Triton. Twenty minutes later... all 50 of them would have been on the third floor, where the lone fatality was located at the time of the incident.
Thank you all for your time.

I sure hate to hear anything of this nature happen. All of those fellows were probably just a bunch of good ole' boys out for the evening. Things like this should never happen.

Re: A few prayers please...
It is very tragic and I hate to see it happen. There were some blessings in that everyone that was inside the restaraunt on the 2nd floor came out alive. I am moving to some property I own that is very close to Clinton, so I'm sure I know some neighbors that were there or knew people there.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time this has happened at the Clinton Square. I heard that there has been multiple incidents with deaths in the old buildings on the Square several times in the past 100 years, including back in the 50's and 70's as well. Some of those may have been fires though. They are trying to refurbish the interior of a lot of those buildings, but it's hard to do when the foundations and superstructure are a century old.
There is a local radio station (95.3 KDKD) that has commercials promoting the Clinton square; I hope this tragic event doesn't ultimately end up hurting the small businesses on the square.
