Somebody has got to know of a good buck that they are going to kill this year. Somebody out there, spill it. 170, says he knows of a 160", but does anyone else know of any decent deer in you hunting area?
I've not seen chit, not seen signs of chit, and I doubt I'll see chit in the future. So, brag that you've atleast seen more then me so far this year.

Elaborate. I'm trying to live vicariously here.

There was a group of 7. Six of those seven were legal deer. Three of those were at least 10 pointers that would score in the 130ish range. But, I don't think any of them would score any more than 140" net. I have heard of a couple of other decent deer and I saw one very near the HFA that was a solid 150" for sure.

I`ve seen him four times so far, Dave. He was bedded in a bean field about 250 yards behind the girlfriend`s dad`s place yesterday at 11:30am. I put a trail camera out earlier in the day, but obviously I need to move it.

Are you going to go for him right away, 170?
PS, I haven't seen a true 150" in years.

Well, I would say that is the first one I have seen in a couple of years. About 3 or 4 years back, I bet I had 5 or 6 on film that were 150 class. I saw a group of another 6 bucks that I didn't get on film that were every bit that big but I only saw them twice the whole summer. The group of 5 were like clockwork. They were there every night. Every darn one of them got killed during gun season I was told.

No Dave, I`m going to wait until the last evening of the season
He`s probably lucky I didn`t have my bow with me yesterday. I normally don`t hunt much until the last week of October. I have about a month to pattern this buck. I have a feeling that I`ll be in a stand the evening of October 1 this year.

The situation you describe is the only time I would target a good buck early in the season. Unless I had his pattern down dead to rights, I typically stay out until closer to the rut.

I'm trying to live vicarioulsy dammit. And, I don't shoot poopoo in the yard. I just get wood watching, and planning the attack.
