Haven't seen much in the way of road goats for awhile, but this morning, I saw now fewer than a dozen of them (one that was a pretty decent buck) along I-44 between Union and St. Louis. You stick and string guys should get out there and start stickin' 'em.

I'm planning on hunting this evening for an hour or two. I have a spot where a northeast wind will be perfect, and we don't get that very often.

I'll be across the road, even though I hate having to travel to hunt. It's a hassle.

Yep, I know what you mean...I may go out on the back deck this afternoon in my camo and hunt a little too.

Bachelor groups are breaking up. That's bad for me, I had 9 bucks in a group patterned. Hopefully a couple are still around.

Were they moving from the N part of the yard past the swingset to the driveway or were they staying a little closer to their beds with the hot weather...like behind the refigerator on the front porch to the azalea bushes by the garage?

Shawn, if my season goes like it's been going so far, I might have to shoot one in the yard this year. I've never done it, but it'll be tempting come late Dec if I haven't connected by then.

Tell me about. I have seen very few deer while I have been on stand, up to this point. Hopefully this cold front and a trip way up North will solve that problem this weekend.

I don't know about the deer, because I wasn't out looking, but on my way home for lunch today I saw 10 times the squirrels I typically see. They must know it is a comin.

I had a whole flock of blackfeet flying south over my house this morning. They were making a heck of a racket. The squirrels were busy too.

MoC, that was not funny. I have more confidence in you than that. Maybe some of them were named Souix.
