MDC Leased Lands
Are their any special regulations for using the leased lands surrounding Truman Reservoir? Naturally I'm gonna avoid it till the end of spring turkey season, but I was wondering if landowners should be contacted, are their parking areas down there, etc. Thanks for any help!

Re: MDC Leased Lands
The actual MDC leased lands usually have parking areas similar to their owned sites. They actually lease from the Corps of Engineers, so they can pretty much do what they want. Local property owners are private property, so if you leave Corps ground you better get permission. There is a lot of hunting area available around Truman on Corps property. You can get maps from the Corps of Engineers Project Office by the dam. Easiest way to enter most Corps areas is to go in by boat. Most property owners adjacent aren't going to any length to help hunters reach Corps ground, most want to treat it like their provate property. Difference is, they can't.
Lots of big chickens down there. Good luck!
