Post by 2shot » November 21st, 2006, 3:22 pm

Anyone have any recommendations on a good gunsmith in the Columbia area, preferrably one that specializes in Remingtons?

None that I can think of. Call Powder Horn and ask who they would recommend.

Just out of curiousity, what's the problem you're having?

thanks, will give a call.

I've got a Remington 710 that was a gift, also have a 7600 so I've procrastinated about getting the 710 fixed.

It has miss fired twice.
two years ago I had a doe in my sights, switched off safety, pulled trigger, it didn?t move, took my finger off the trigger, raised up and touched the safety with my thumb and boom! The first time it happened I was sighting it in but I had my finger on the trigger so I thought it must have been me. It has a heck of a heavy trigger as well.

Sounds like the safety isn't clicking off fully for some reason... I would think it would be a pretty obvious fix if you removed the trigger housing.

Talk to Lee at PH. They give all of their guns to some dude down around Guthrie. Supposedly he is a miracle worker.
