Who lets him walk? Maybe both?

I'd let him walk. My b.i.l. shoots. My f.i.l. shoots. My oldest son stands there and tells me he doesn't have a good shot so why bother. My youngest son runs at him wanting to tackle him and rope him like a calf.

If it is a Cous (sp?) he is a trophy. If it is just a midwest whitetail, he needs another year or two.

I would cover myself with leaves and when he stepped over me I would deliver a quick stab to the heart. No, I would probably let him walk.

I don;t know who the Grizz hunter is; my quote is from "The Outlaw Josey Wales" (i.e. Clint Eastwood).

As for the last part, I thought you were referring to PS, who shoots bucks and then lets them walk away (at least for a week or two).
