Things are good!

Post by Keith@AimLow » November 11th, 2007, 11:17 pm

Well, after getting up at 1:00AM on Thursday and driving for 3.5 hours to climb in a stand at day break and not getting out until sunset, and then sitting in the stand from day break until 4:30 on Friday, it finally paid off. We just knew if we could stick it out and not give into fatigue, eventually a doe would bring me a trophy. At 4:30PM on Friday, I was the happiest man in IL. It's a little tough to see in this picture, but he is a perfect 12 pt. The right brow tine kinda blends in with the right G-2. He is going to gross in the mid 150's and be just over 150 net if PoisonSnake figure correctly. The whole thing is on film and the footage is awsome. Oh, and BTW, we filmed a deer well over 200 inches about 4 hours before I shot this deer.

Always nice to see a guy with his trophy smiling for his picture.

That`s awesome, Keith. Glad to see your hard work, and persistence pay off with a great buck. Shortly after you called yesterday I watched a nice buck chase a doe around a CRP field until it got dark. I have a feeling it`s going to be a frustrating week, unless the right doe happens to walk into bow range.

But it was a long time ago, and it was just that one day.

Tony..I am really sorry for rushing off the phone yesterday. My wife was passing me on the highway and yelling out the window asking me about the deer. By the time I got it skinned and caped out it was getting late.

Nice buck.....can we assume that the AimLow crew has moved on to yet another camo pattern now?

Congrats Keith. That is a dream buck.

I went to George's, but not much to report, other than the deer weren't moving as much as normal, but there were still deer to be had. That, and there were no hunters up there. Me and George's cousin were the only ones hunting the whole property.

Yeah, you'd better give me the credit for that deer. Image Image

I wish you would do something about the crooked quiver on that bow. That just bugs the piss out of me.

Oh, and I was scoring it using my hand. I can generally get fairly close using that method. It truly is/was a beautiful deer.
