I mentioned to you guys a few days back about a decent deer I saw in our clover harassing does. Well, last night I shot his little brother as I figured I would do. Right at dark, a deer came in on me and all I could see was that it was a legal buck for the most part. Couldn't judge him that well in the fading light. I put a perfect double lung shot on him and he died 25 yards from my house. I'm guessing all of 80" on this deer. Little seven pointer. Good eating I suppose.

For crying out loud, I never even hunted that close to home.

I shot him off the back deck. I didn't take any pictures. In fact, I just gutted him and left him laying out there. I'll take care of him tonight.

PS, how you doing with your condition? Congrats on the deer, but I dont know if I would have said anything about the deck of your house, though.

Dang coyotes and dogs got to the deer before I could do anything with him. Only thing I was able to salvage were the tenderloins.

Thats all any real deer hunter salvages anyway.

It's probably time I come clean with you all. I only cut off the tails of deer I kill so I can dye them various colors and use them to tie flies to support my trout fishing habit.

I ed the rack with a hammer and then ground it into a fine powder with a mortar and pestal. I'm going to snort it before I go hunting as a good luck charm.
