Went with my pops, killed 4 birds in 2.5 days on Kansas Public ground... Rios
Mo was a little more challanging this year. First weekend was tough, called in a bird for my woman she killed, called in a few jakes after that. Killed a 5 year old second week, and a missed a bird second weekend, then killed a average bird an hour later. Called in a bird for my buddy he smashed.
I ended up calling in lots of birds the last week and weekend for a few others. Mo was timed much better this year with the late spring.
Went back to Kansas with folks with tags and called in a couple more.
Decided to pull a wild trip after Mo season. Ordered tags for the Black hills of South Dakota with a buddy.
Drove all night, showed up at 9:15 to public land, bird dead by 9:30. Went bought some maps drover around for a few hours, took a nap, got up at 5pm. Drove to a new spot. Bird two dead at 5:40
Decided one day of hunting wasn't enough. Drove south to Nebraska public lands. Slept in the truck. Got up at daylight scouted went bought Neb tags. First bird dead at 3pm.
Roosted a bird for the night, setup in the morning didn't work out. Left that spot. Found a bird and three hens, called it up, missed. Left there scouted some more, Found a bird, killed him in 30 min. Packed up drove all night home. 4 Merriams down in 3 days and 2500 miles of driving.
Went back to Kansas last weekend hunted with another buddy with tags. Called in two more longbeards.
Lots of turkey death seen this year. It was a good season.
