Another Illinois bruiser...

Smitty...even you've never disclosed a recovery story like this one.
I got these pics in an email this morning from a friend of mine. The email said, “Call me for the story…you won’t believe it.”
My friend’s son and this guy duck hunt together. They duck hunt flooded bottom ground near Carlyle Lake in Illinois. My friend claims they are always coming home with reports of a big deer sighting.
Long story short…This guy was hunting the outskirts of this flooded bottom ground. He watched this deer slowly close the distance. Once in range, it was dang near dark and the guy claimed he couldn't see his pins very well. He shot, then he said, “all hell broke loose.” He said the deer started flailing/bucking/jumping/stumbling…as it was being electrocuted. He said he watched the deer fall though it was some distance out in the flooded water. When he got to the deer it was still alive. It was at this time he realized he had hit the it in the head. The guy had left his bow at the waters edge and had no knife with him. Afraid the deer would run off...he climb’s on this deer's back and hold its head below water...he phucking drowned it.
Can you believe that chit? No idea if it's the real story but the guy telling me this is certainly not the type to make it up or pass along hearsay.
I think he said it had 26 or 28 scoreable points and field dressed at just over 280lbs.
