Well, I'm starting to catch a few nice flatheads. Lost a big channel that simply "let go". I had a 10 pound flathead Sunday night and a 17 3/4 pound flat last night. Not cayching alot of fish, just one or so a night. I'm baiting with perch (bluegills, bream, etc)......
Have fun, go get 'em.....!!

TR, where are you fishing? Coves, secondary coves, main lake?

HB....Secondary coves. Line is parallel to shore. Water is 15 to 22 feet deep but line is fairly high in the water column. I've got it weighted with one brick about 1/4 of the way between tie trees. So, I guess some hooks are only 3 to 4 ft deep all the way to about 8 or maybe 10 feet deep.
These first few fish have bit on the deeper hooks but last year as the water warmed, the shallower hooks got hot.
Wolfie...Yep, prolly have another one after the PWT tourney at Bull Shoals in late June..... I'll let cha know.....

Thanks TR, I'm going to be on the lake over Memorial day with the kids and grandkids and I think I'll try some jugs.

HellBender, Memorial weekend is usually pretty darn good for catfishing at TR. Even with all the boat traffic and crazies. 3 years ago one of my neighbors had out a trotline over Memorial weekend and one night he had flats on 19 of his 25 hook line...I've never had that happen but even a couple a night is great fun.

Well, the ole trotline bite is still going pretty good. I'm still not catching "numbers" of fish, but one or two good, solid fish almost every night. I took my line up and missed several nights due to the "creepin' crud" and some company from out of town but I'm back at it and they are still going pretty good. This morning I plucked a 19 pounder off my line and that was all that was there....The lake has gone down a bit but my same ole spot is still producing so I'll stick with it a while longer.....
Got get 'em....

Well I'd think a 19#'r would be plenty, or course if you're having to feed Jessie that probably wouldn't even be a smell.

TR have you given up on the wally's?
What's Jonsey up too?

Nope, Haven't given up on the walleye's but have had to stay close to home, fishing-wise, recently. I hope to get over to Bull Shoals next weekend, but will have to play it by ear. The weekend after that, our "last chick in the nest" is getting married so, I suppose, fishing is out.

The weekend after that, I've got to get over to BS and get a campsite grabbed for the following weeks PWT tourney.
Jonesey is pretty busy with company and stuff but is catching a few fish trolling the flats here at da rock. It's the easiest way to take grandkids and non'fisher people
out to catch a fish.
I hear that the trolling bite is going pretty good on LOWER Bull Shoals, but I have no report for upper BS.
Gary, are you and Ralph still tearing them up on Stockton??

Hate to own up to it but haven't been for the last couple of weeks. Although we've caught some fish it's been a lot less than spectacular. Hopefully the warmer weather will help things,(it was 42 here this morning) seems to be plenty of water so guess we're just not going to the right places.
I'm trying to decide how to mount some rod holders so they won't be where you can trip over them in the dark. It's about time for some all niters. It's my favorite time to be on the lake, usually have it to yourself.
I'm after some of those big cat if you don't catch all of 'em before I can get out

I doubt if I've even put a small dent in the catfish population...

As you know, Tablerock is well known as a bass lake and I don't think the Catfish are fished for by many. I only mess with them this time of year because they are so easy. I'm no catfish expert, just know when to put a trotline out and take advantage of the spring bite. I'll be back after the whites and walleye's real soon. Let me know when you boys head to Stockton again.....
