When are these bucks going to finally drop their antlers? Watched a group of 4 bucks behind the house Saturday, and all but one of them still has both sides. The other fully shed weeks ago. WTF.

I've seen them carry their antlers to late March or early April. Typically the oldest drop their antlers first, that is not a hard and fast rule, but it does work out that way more often than not.

It's odd that a couple dropped early, but the rest, no matter their age, are still carrying. I'm not much of a shed hunter, but I would like to walk around and at least look. Not wasting my time till I start seeing more of them without antlers. Stupid deer.

We have a group of 4 young buck hanging out at our place and they all had both sides last weekend. Did see one older buck who had dropped two weeks ago. For some reason deer activity at our place has been unbelievable. Where were those bastages in the fall.

I've seen half racks as early as December 7. I have seen a fully racked deer as late as April 16. Heck if I know?

I wonder if I sat in a stand and threw heavy objects at their heads if I could somehow knock the antlers off.

I doubt you would hit them. They have a tendency to "jump the arm". That being said, you might be able to shoot them off with a rubber blunt.

Tie little nooses in the trees around your corn piles about 3 1/2' off of the ground.
