Give it up, fool... I'm pregnant for heaven's sakes! Image No one wants to see that. Image

Do I need ask where you acquired a brass pole? You dancin' these days or did the last woman move out so fast she didn't mind leavin' it behind? Image

So, can I use the Barbie pole now?

7yrs, and can't sit still for a minute.

I took her fishin' this past weekend with my dad, and we didn't catch squat. We worked with her casting, and she's a quick study. It impressed me how fast she took to the spinning reel. So long Barbie pole. Image

How old is she now dave? That may be all well and good now, but just think if she carries that habit into her late teens and early 20's! Image Image

Sounds like something my daughter would do. Mud is one of her favorite indgredients to mix into any event. Image

Dave- You really should quit bitchin' about the "wrong" fish...at least you're catching something. Only one fish on the bank last night, about a 2# channel. Very few other bites....the wind, clouds and front seemed to have them hiding. But as always....time spent on a pond bank is not time wasted! Image

DMR - For your "at my expense" category....the boy was frog catching and ended up about knee-deep in mud and we had to "dig" for one of his shoes that came off....but it was located and brought to the surface. Image

We finaly caught 28 of the right fish last night. Got some good ones 11-12".

If you're fishing a farm pond, the males are right on the banks, and the females are staging 2-3' deep in open water.

I thought blew (blue) holes were basically scour holes, where the river current dug a pit during the floods. One of these holes fluctuates with the river levels. The other 3 or 4 on the property don't change with river levels. They are more like what I thought scour/blew holes were.

No asians (carp or otherwise) have come out of any of those holes yet. Image

That's a blew hole, ya goof ! And yeah, anything that lives in the river could be livin' in there.

Iffin' yer lucky, river access was terminated before the Asian carp invasion. If not, just go out there and smack the surface with an oar / paddle. Your boy could have a blast stompin' all the nasty bastages that jump on to the bank. Image

One of these is like a giant sink hole that's filled up. It's about 150 yards or more (haven't actually walked it off) from the river, but the level rises and drops with river level some. I've been told the hole is at least 40 feet deep. Supposedly it holds some big cats of all varieties, that came from the river during the floods. I've seen some big-azzed shadows swimming in there!

Carp are up and rolling near the banks in the lake I'm fishing.

I like those washout holes and deep creek holes. You never know what the heck is in there to catch. Hook a big'en.
