PWT at Bull Shoals

Post by powerdive » June 8th, 2004, 7:36 pm

The big boys in walleye fishing are coming to Bull Shoals for the first time ever, Wed-Fri, June 23-25. These guys are good, and they should bring in some impressive baskets. For anyone interested in walleye fishing, it's definitely worth driving down to the Bull Shoals Boat Dock to catch the weigh-ins and festivities.

If anyone wants a chance to fish with & learn from the pros, you can pre-fish this tourney even if you're not competing in it (like our buddy Tablerock is). Most of the pros will be fishing at least from Friday thru Tuesday morning, and they'll gladly take you out if they don't have a partner for the day. Gives them more lines, net help, etc. Usually how it works, you split the cost for bait/gas and bring a lunch for the pro (like Subway). You use his gear. Usually, it's set up beforehand, but if you show up at the ramp you can usually find a ride.

This may be a once-in-a-lifetime shot for Bull Shoals, so if you're interested check out the PWT's website. I'm pretty sure they can help you find a pro to fish with. Image Image

I received an e-mail from PWT this morning with schedules, etc.... It says that there are still a few amatuer positions open. What a chance to learn from the very best walleye fisherman on the planet. If there are any "fence-riders" out there, now is the time to go for it...!

I just got back from Bull Shoals. These guys are serious about catching Eyes. They will also bend over backwards to share information. I lucked out and the slip I rented at Theodosia was right next to one of thiers. --paddle Image

Looks like I'm going to get to PRE-fish with a pro on Monday.... Really looking forward to seeing these guys in action. Like CoyoteWhacker said, I'll have a PHD in Walleyeoligy when this is over. (I hope)..... Image

Yo! TR.....as soon as you get rested up from your "vacation" with the walleye pro's, would you post up the results of the tournament. Wish I could have come down for the weigh-in, but that's a seriously long drive, and the grass continued to grow up here. Would love to find out who won, and what techniques worked.

Actually, it is a local dialect understood only by a few people who live around Half Way. But basically, it means that since nobody volunteered to cut the grass in my large yard, I had to do it. The mower was broken down last week, and it takes a while to catch back up after warranty repairs are completed. Now that the grass is all mowed, I will be headed over to Stockton about Oh-dark-thirty tomorrow morning to see if any white bass are chasing shad on the surface.
