I am feeling all west coast this morning, yo. Earthquake in Mo. Fuggin slept right through it. Thought New Madrid fault was further south Mo?

I hadn't heard anything about it.

Sounded like a truck hit the house. Didn't last long though.

No kidding. The misses felt it, I slept through it. She woke me up asking if I felt that house shake. I didn't even notice. Pretty crazy.

I hope it wasn't me, since I clearly stated that I slept through it! :rotfl:

The earthquake today occured outside of the New Madrid Seismic Zone. The epicenter was near Richwoods, MO. That area is within the Salem Plateau- there are a large number of older faults that cross that area, and the seismic waves travel pretty well through the near horizontal bedrock there.

My grandpa lives pretty close to Richwoods- I have to give him credit if he got lucky last night 'cause he's 93.
