Shooter
Good friend of mine killed this sammich yesterday, about a mile and a half from our property down in Pulaski County. To say he is on a streak is the understatement of the century. IN 2011 he killed a 172, last year he killed a 186 and this year he killed this stud the green score grosses 184 2/8.

Re: Shooter
Wow.
All you thugs and ugly mugs dealing drugs and making noise,
You can kill each other all you want but if you touch my little boys,
You begging for this bullet will be the last thing that you say
before I let my dark side come out to play

Re: Shooter
The SAMCRO-uttered "wow" was issued as a response to the full realization at how badly Limbshot sucks at deer hunting. For eons, we've heard nothing but excuses as to why the little fella can't kill a big deer. These excuses could be simmered out, extracting a macro-excuse revolving around the idea that the area he hunts is not capable of producing large bucks.
I bought that, as did many. However, he now shows us a true monstrosity of a whitetail buck. One, it could be argued, was against the grain of the area, one that was not so much of an example of the potential as it was an example of mutation.
However, when the same post reveals the hunter pictured has put to ground repeated bucks of similiar caliber - you can see where I'm going.
I guess a picture is indeed worth a thousand words. This picture simply screams two words: Limbshot sucks.

Re: Shooter
Some good points LS. SC's answer should be interesting. SC knock off any personal crap and give a straight answer to LS's response. This coiuld be a good discussion about distribution of better bucks in the state. You other guys feel free to post your 2 cents worth too. Even though there are exceptions to the distribtion of bigger deer it seems like I 70 seems to divide the bigger deer to the north and smaller to the south but that is just a general observation.Limbshot wrote:In ten years of runnning cameras on our place, we have had a grand total of one deer that comes close to this one. Therefore, it is also clear that I suck at putting out cameras. It is pretty obvious that deer of this caliber are literally behind every tree in Pulaski County, I am just clearly looking on the wrong side of the trees. For what it is worth, this deer was killed a mile and half away, each of the other two were well over 10 miles away. There was also a 190+ killed on national forest land well south of us a few years back. I challenge you, Samcro, to head to the MTNF land south of Ft. Wood and kill a deer simply over 130 inches, I mean, if a guy killed a 192 in there, then anybody should be able to kill a good one right?!?!

Re: Shooter
I think it's more of the Missouri River than I-70. Just different habitats in general. I know SC was just giving me crap, it's all good. I know the truth about where I hunt and I'm pretty sure he does too. If not, then he needs to accept my challenge.

LS, that is probably a more accurate dividing line but given that I 70 generally follows the same course, give or take some miles on each side, I usually use that because its easier to visualize for people who don't know the whole state.
LP, I understand the addiction part because I had it pretty bad when I was younger, not so much anymore.

Re: Shooter
I see what you are saing RB. I only mentioned it because there are large portions of Boone and Callaway Counties that are below 70 that produce a lot of good deer. Heck even your farm would fit that description I bet.

Re: Shooter
LS, we are probably one of those a few miles off 70 where that is probably true to a point. Every year there are some really big deer killed in our county but most of them are around the ag areas, bottoms etc. The hill deer around us tend to be more basket rack buck but we do have some good ones. Here's a pic of one off the camera from last year. He is still around but did not get him on the camera this year. He was seen twice during gun season. Not a monster but a good one for our area.Limbshot wrote:I see what you are saing RB.
