Did anyone get shut out this year? They were sold out on the 1st day. It gets tougher every year.

True Story. I got permission to hunt a property in Pike County this year. 1000 acres of pretty good stuff, or so I was told. Forgot to call on Saturday. Wife reminded me on Sunday at noon. I called them up, and no dice. Rained on my parade. Wouldn't have got to hunt over there much anywho.

Only half of that story was really true. The part about being invited to hunt over there. I couldn't do it this year if I wanted to. I thought about it and thought about it, but I have to sit in on a class that I have to teach the following fall. So, I didn't even consider buying a tag. My buddy from Chicago hunts down there with bow and shotgun. Stays in a B&B every year in Pittfield. So, it would not have been terribly cheap. Funny thing is this. He made no incling of inviting me over there to shotgun hunt for 3 days. I would have made every effort to do that deal.
