Guys I have seen the way PMS scores deer. I'm not sure but I don't think that official scorers truly add points for things like style, character, color, and "thrill of the hunt".

Well in that case, I had a doe that scored 150 last year. Image

Thrill of the hunt goes a long way in my book. In fact, that is where I came up with that score for that last day buck. That was worth 50 inches right there. I was hip thrusting and fist pumping all the way out of the woods. Shortest hunt of the year, and by far the best.

I'm not kidding you. That buck won't score an inch over 120, but a guy would have thought I would have killed a 180" deer if he had seen me that day.

I can relate, I had a heartbreak season last year missing a 150 class. When I got that doe, I could not remember (at that time) a more hard earned success. It was a rewarding year in retrospect.
