Flocking up

Post by RB » August 18th, 2004, 11:15 am

Started seeing birds in flocks this week. No toms with them and only a few younger jakes. Anybody else seeing this?

I've been seeing a few gobblers running together eating grasshoppers. Looked to be two different groups of 4.

I have only been seeing one group of 3 toms but in the same place every evening. Those groups should be getting bigger next month. Last winter the hen flock on my place had a big tom with them all winter....smart dude.

I found a flock of about 10 in Joplin yesterday in a part of town I'd never seen any before. For Wingman, or anyone else who cares, they were out on the South side of Lozier at 20th & Schifferdecker.

Saw them again today. They were right by the road. 3 hens and about 8 poults.

Hey Rafe, I always thought mocraig was a moron....now I am sure of it. momo take your bullshit to the lodge or I will ask JimDog to moderate your donkey. Rafe, the turks are starting to show up alot now compared to when it was hot. When bow season opens maybe JimDog will put a turkey countdown clock up. craig, go away.

Maybe I'll really piss him off and take some pictures of them today and post on here. That'd fix his little red wagon.

I have been seeing groups of 4-6 Toms running around. I really haven't been paying too much attention though.
