I think it's still a bit early for the horns, but who knows, it's worth a try. I do know that last year at this time I had a hell of a lot of good reaction from bucks with my decoy. It is definately time to break that baby out.

Last year about this time, I rattled my living donkey off for about 30 straight minutes. I don't know if it was the rattling that brought the deer to me, but the deer in my avatar died about 10 minutes after my rattling sequence. He wasn't really looking or anything. There was another buck with him, maybe an 8 pointer, that was rubbing a tree to all hell. After I shot the big fellow, the 8 pointer just kept on rubbing his donkey off.

I bet it is time to start Image. I arrowed that buck at Columbia Bottoms last year on Oct 23 and I am positive the rattling brought him my way Image.

Just remember to put your smokes down before you start rattling as he might come in real quick Image. Fortunately for me last year, the wind was pretty strong and the buck never smelled me Image.

Buddy of mine had to small bucks do a little sparring in front of him this past weekend. So maybe giving the Image a little tickle might not hurt

Bucks have been sparring since the velvet came off. One of the best buck fights I have ever seen took place on September 22. It was definitely not a sparring match either. I don't think I have ever seen anything like that even on video. State Farm, Columbia, MO.

I would never leave the house without my Image. I guess I was introduced to them about oh 7-8 years ago by an older guy who I thought was crazy for using them at the time. After the second session on a brisk November morning here come about a 140 class 10 point all bristled up and looking to fight. INCREDIBLE! Image

Everytime I go I bring them and have had similiar success over the years. Start soft and as the day goes kick it up. Its a natural thing that happens in the woods so no need to shy away. I have been with guys who think they know what they are doing and........the hunt is over. Keep in mind its deer fighting not David vs. Goliath. It works and the first time it does you will be hooked. Image

Hit the Image firm but do not reach down to texas and come across the Image with the force of ten men. Make it sound real.... Don't get me wrong get aggressive with them rake the trees(rubbing) turn the Image over and thump the ground a couple of times(improvise real movement)but make it sound like 2 deer fighting not 10. When I rattle, I try to do a version of the electric boogaloo just for old times sake. I really get into it. The deer seem to love it. I make so much noise you would think a turkey was going to roost.

We had a 6 point walk past us Sat. morning and out into a CRP field. For Chits and giggles I picked up the horns and gave them a decent clashing. This 6 point turned and made an absolut B-Line for our tree. Robin captured the whole ordeal on video so it will make for some good footage. Too bad it wasn't a monster.
