He's done it again....
Mark Drury has shot another 190+ deer. This is one is 194 6/8. Last year he got around a 192. This dude is one big buck killing machine.

Where does he hunt? At the risk of belittling his accomplishments, is he hunting public land or typical farms like most of us? No matter where he hunts, that is a darn fine deer. However, I put a whole lot less into trophy deer that were killed on deer farms, by folks that have the time and money to buy those opportunities...
Nonetheless, I envy him for being able to get out that much and hunt those primo spots. I wonder how he'd fare hunting average places like most of us. Just something to chew on...

Re: He's done it again....
He hunts on private farms. All hunts are 100%wild and fair chase. So I'd guess that he's fare pretty darn well hunting average places like most of us.

That man puts more money in food plots and deer managment than most of our houses are worth. I know that for a fact. They are money deer -- fair chase or not. But, if I had the money, I would be shooting them too.

Sptsman: I talked just the other day to the taxidermist who does Terry and Mark's deer. He said those two guys have one thing in common that most of us do not have. Time. They have some good farms in Iowa and IL, but the time taken to kill those deer is a crucial thing. PoisonSnake

PS is correct(Gawd, I hate sayin that
) But that is their very lively hood: huntin. Unless you are just chithouse lucky you ain't gonna kill a 190" deer every year, or any year. You got to practically live in the woods and a woods that has them in it, an be able to sit on your hands when a 150" walks by 15 yards away.

Too Tall and PS are probabaly two of the smartest guys I know. Take note when these guys speak and you will learn a lot.
When it comes to killing monster deer though, take note when Hunting170 hands out some advice. Thats 3-4 monsters in about 4-5 years for this guy. He is making a name for himself. I'm just glad Aim Low has exclusive rights to him.

Watch 150 in deer walk, I dont think so. Keith, correct me if I am wrong, but these guys live and die to get good buck kills on video. No chittin way any of that crew, whether a drury or a team member, or a subcontractor is gonna pass on the chance to get a 150in buck bowkill on video.
I have seen the interview after a kill was made, but not captured on video...They arent pleased.

Chit Kurt, some of the deer on their web pages are as sammichy as my 8 pointer this week. I'd say if it pushes 120" and they can get it on film, they are killing it. Jackie Bushman and his crew, well, they will settle for anything with a darn rack. That guy should have stuck with Tennis.

Re: He's done it again....
PS, I think Buckmasters is meant to appeal to us basket rack hunters. We all don't have the spots that you and 170 alias luckyfugger have. Last year a friend of mine got invited to hunt a farm not far from Columbia and got a 180 gross 174 7/8 net buck. He had only killed basket racks and does before that in the Ozarks. If I got the 120 you got this week I would have it mounted. It was a very nice looking rack for as you say sammich buck. Have a good and safe hunt this weekend.

I think most of these crews go in with high expectiations but will settle for medium sized bucks as time wears down. You can't make videos without kills thats for sure.

Re: He's done it again....
Jeff, you are correct on that. But, fish mentioned the Drury's letting a 150 pass to get to the 190 class bucks, and I was saying, poopoo. If a 150 walks by anyone is gonna shoot it, especially the Drury crew if there is a camera in hand.
What I wonder is how many camera men they have...cause they always show the buck, then the hunter drawing, then buck, then the hunter at full draw. Certainly the shots of the hunter drawing and at full draw are cut in's, made later and they not moving like that with the bucks in close....or there is a 2nd camera filming just the shooter.

Re: He's done it again....
I think they stage all of that jive.
I don't know about M&T Drury. They probably do let some 150" deer walk on their own farms up until it gets down to nitty gritty time. But, ifn' they are out west or something, they are gonna shoot a 150" deer I am certain.
