We hunt a 250 acre farm in bowling green. There is one guy who is our 'in' to the place and we dont hunt there without him. Him gets first dibs on where he wants to hunt. Often times he will not take a specific spot, and just pick a stand that isn't taken.

We all sort of have our favorite stands and tend to end up there, we dont "hog" a spot. The food plots are the product of all of our work, we share the expense, and get equal chances to hunt over them if we choose. We are gentlemanly about it and don't feel the need to keep a tally board of how many folks hunted a spot or whatever.

We share all info on bucks seen. We are all interested in each others success. There is only 3 of us and we are pretty close nit group so there is no selfishness on taking deer. Right now there is an absolute monster of a 10 pt that has been seen each of the last couple of years and has come close to meeting an arrow. I would be a little bummed if another guy shot it, but I wouldnt feel cheated or screwed.

We picked our locations based on the hunters height. Image

Seriously, Some years ago I was involved in a large hunting lease with about a doz. other guys.

We drew for spots for the first weekend.(Before season but after scouting and a little squirrel hunting.) After that it was pretty much open but we didn't use each others stands without permission. You had dibs on last years spot the following year. That way if you wanted to improve the spot with salt blocks or by building funnels you knew you would get the first oportunity the next year.

This was a year round hunting lease and it had several ponds for fishing. Several of us used it for turkey, squirrel, quail and varmint.
Carrying a gun isn't about killing.
It's about staying alive.
