Goose
Goose
Hunted this past weekend on Stockton Lake. The only shot we took was on a goose coming into our decoys. It was a loner. It had a white head and grayish body with gray wings with black on the bottom edge of the wings. I have attached a pic of it in the members photos. I don't usually kill this type of goose. My question is what kind of goose is this? I know it is some form of snow. Thanks.

Re: Goose
H 91,
That's an eagle head blue, and yes it's a color phase of a snow goose. Nice bird.

Why did Kamikaze pilots wear helmets ?
Re: Goose
I had thought it was a snow coming in, could see the white head. Actually, thought it may be what was called an eagle headed blue after we picked it up but the conservation officer that check me said it was a snow. But you are correct, need to brush up on my goose identification.
DMR--thanks for confirming my suspicion on goose.
