I have about the same deal wth my lab, but she is 9 yrs. old and I can't see spending that much money on her since she is that old. But I am not going to put her down because of it, she can still hunt a little and maybe she can help teach a new pup a thing or two next year. As long as she is taking it easy it doesn't seem to bother her much, so I guess I'll hunt her a little and let her lay around the fire a lot.
