Don`t know if you have seen Jay Gregory`s show "The Wild Outdoors", but he is from MO. He spends a ton of money on out-of-state turkey hunts because, as you have been made aware, there are no more turkeys there. My point is that he, and his crew, kill the piss out of turkeys with that Rocket Hammerhead. That is what I would use if we had any turkeys left in Illinois. Damned non-resident MO hunters came over here and killed em all (even the hens).
One day, long, long ago, there lived a woman who did not whine, nag, or bitch.
But it was a long time ago, and it was just that one day.

Thanks 170. That's what I've got right now. Just curious about other options and results. Best of Luck.
How come work always gets in the way of my bowhunting???????

Don't let these guys pull your leg TomBow. We have plenty of turkeys in Missouri, problem is we can't legally hunt them with a bow. Image

I suppose your allowed to do that in Minnesota?

WTF am I talking about. Since when did Missouri allow you to shoot turkeys with a bow? That is the most insane thing I?ve ever heard of. I mean really, you really think there are people out there that good, good enough to shoot a turkey with a bow? I don?t think so. But, I have to see proof of this. I wanna see where it says its legal to shoot a turkey with a bow in the state of MO. You are such a moron! Where do you live? I'm gonna come whip your behind.

And by the way, my behind is gonna be whats wrapped around your nose cutting a toot. The hole (notice I said hole and not "whole" lmao) is gonna be what I burry you?re behind in when I'm done whoopin on it. Image

Methods:

The following are allowed during the spring firearms turkey hunting season:

a shotgun with shot not larger than No. 4

a longbow or compound bow. Hand-held string releasing devices, illuminated sights, scopes and quickpoint sights are allowed.

This was taken from here...

Missouri Department of Conservation

now which one did you say was your donkey??

BTW, I'm always up for a donkey-whoopin. Image

Do you need an address?

To try and get this a little back on topic, I have killed three turkeys with a bow now. My first I shot right through the wing joint and out the other with a 5 bladed 145 grain Razorback five fixed bladed broadhead. She ran like a bat out of Hades for about 60 yards and bit the dust. My second turkey with a bow I killed with an NAP Spitfire Gobbler getter expandible head. I was aiming for the wing joint, and hit him a little high and hit his spine. Recovery distance, about two feet straight down. He just buckled right there. My third was killed with an NAP Scorpion expandible head. The bird was facing hard away from me, I aimed between his Image and his right leg trying to get the arrow well up into his body cavity and did just that. The arrow was sticking out of his body about 4 inches in front of his left wing. He went 20 yards and fell over. I absolutely believe that expandibles are the way to go for turkeys. The extra cutting diameter is never a bad thing wiht birds. Also, not saying it is impossible, but I would rahter try and shoot one form the ground rather than from a tree. 3-3 from the ground and 0-7/8 from a tree. Shot placement is critical. I like a bird either facing right at me, or directly away from me you get a lot more trauma to the body that way, but if a bird is facing to the side, I'll try and shoot him in the wing joint or just a little forward of that.

It's "your", not "you're".
That's a contraction infraction.
