sptsman - you got that in a word doc that you cut-n-paste when you need it?
A person can't help but agree with that common sense rebuttle of World History.

Question for you though. What things would need to happen in order for our society to elect people into powerfull positions that interpret our Constitution and its Amendments differently enough to make your "schpeal" moot?

Center Punch - To answer your question, electing John Kerry would be a good start at eroding our rights.

A person can't help but agree with that common sense rebuttle of World History.

Isn't amazing how world history can often be summed up in a sentence or two when it suits your cause. Nevermind the other facts and circumstances that came into play with each of these examples. Especially when a simple "cause and effect" analogy can be spoon fed to those that can't think for themselves... This garbage is as disingenuous as the spotted owl was to stop logging...

Chicken? ...of what?

I've already admitted that I do not have the mental capacity to even remotely understand the fire insurance analogy. That one has me baffled beyond words. Now you hit me with chicken? Please expalin! I realize I may have to put this in the same catagory as the fire insurance but I'd at least like to take a crack at it... How am I chicken? That would imply that I am afraid of something regarding this issue. What would that be? Do tell...

This is just another cheap play on the emotions and heartstrings of folks who are either uneducated or not smart enough to see the differences between those instances and the current situation in the USA today.

First and foremost, none of those countries were ever a true democracy, with the type of freedom we have today. As a result, the changes in gun control laws were minor modifications at most.

I believe, IMHO, that the point is what happened after the changes in the gun control laws:

Genocide (the deliberate and systematic destruction of a racial, political, or cultural group) & the rise in crime rates (since the "outlaws" still have their guns).

These "minor" modifications had major results. In other words ~ one L of a snowball effect, eh?!
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it...

sptsman - I know you're just baiting me and I'm simply slapping it back up to you with my tail.

You're a smart guy. You know exactly how the Fire Insurance analogy fits and you're playing dumb, and if I went there with you again it would be for the third time.

Anyway, you won't even try to answer the question so I think you're afraid to go there. We get right to this point in the discussion, and you back away with a wonderfully idiotic "support through ridcule" statement.

R A F - I'm sure you're right about Kerry, but I think that would be the case no matter what the Liveral/Socialist's name is elected. I also just think it starts way before the names get placed on the ballot.

The Old S - Which part do you agree? Image
