Here's the deal...

Post by hobiecat » February 1st, 2005, 5:17 pm

We're gonna have us a get together at the picnic area at Finger Lakes State Park the weekend of March 5th and 6th. All ya'all and your significant others are invited.

The Main Event will be the afternoon and into the evenin of the 5th. We will have spots reserved for campin, so those of ya that wanna brave it... have at it.

The Main Event will consist of Cookin, Eatin, Drinkin, Lyin, cussin, fightin, singin, dancin, and overall boisterous behaviour. I think we may even have a death-cage matchup between MOCraig and TwoTall in the works.

There is plenty of water, so if ya wanna wet a line, brang your pole. I'll be brangin a target... so if ya wanna fling some arrows, brang your bow.

If for some reason it looks like we gonna have a gully-washin pizzer... we'll move her down the street and indoors at Rack & Roll. That will be determined when we can somewhat accuratley determine the weather.

Now, I'm gonna start makin arrangements so what I need from ya'all right now is a head count and wether or not you'll be campin. For those of you thinkin ya wanna camp, keep in mind there is no water (showers, toilets, drinkin, etc.) that time of year. They don't turn it on til April 1st. And the cost of a campin site will be $20 if ya want it reserved, $12 the day of.

So who's in?
I was drunk the day my momma got outta prison.

Hobie,
Am I confused ? I thought the State park didn't allow drinking ?

That's too much sacrifice for me. Image

I just got off the phone with Finger Lakes and spoke with corporal Calvin Crandle. Beer in picnic area is allowed as long as it is not our main activity ( lots of grey there ).

No targets for archery allowed.

Rocky Fork CA is right across the road he says would be possibly a better choice for what we are trying to acheive here. Anybody have any experience with this CA ?

Trout weekend opener... Image I have to honor my St.James heritage and get drunk on cheap canadian whiskey, mocking purdy looking city boys and their high dollar gear while catching loads of chit fish.

Your place looks good though:

I'm not planning on camping. I'd get a cheap sleep in town before I'd go that route. ( or sleep in my truck ) I don't mind the weather , I just don't want to fool with the camping gear. It's still in hibernation from last year.

If I remember correctly , there is a road that goes North as you approach the big lake at Rocky. There is a parking lot , and I think a picnic area there. It does have lake access.

There should be plenty of room there. Image

BornBad - You're supposed to be out there drunk and harassing the Orvis boys on Tuesday. Don't be giving us a lame donkey trout excuse! Image

The post is titled "Here's the Deal"....and the deal still ain't figured out? Image

DMR - I'll bring the grill, a cooler (and the brandy)...you bring the kabobs. Once these women make up their mind we'll decide if we want to track them down!! Image

OF,
It's a deal. I imagine 2B and I will be riding together. It might be one hell of a task for 3 of us to eat that much food , but I ain't skeered to try. Image
