I am with counts. The dumb deer I have hunted pay more attention to where I walk in than the open country deer I hunt.

And, fact is, where I hunt, the homeowner can go out and yell at them, throw things at them or whatever. They stand there and look. But as soon as I go sneaking back there with a bow in hand...gone! Maybe I just stink.

Why don't some of you guys with the dumb city deer invite us out for some video hunts. We ain't ashamed to shoot a stupid one.

I walk in backwards to my stand. The deer think I am leaving and then I whack em when they come on by.

C & C, the verdict isnt conclusive, yet. Image Image

If you are one of those hunters among the o.oooooooo1% who are lucky enough to kill a 180 class buck in an urban area, will you tell people who are looking at it, "Gee it's just a dumb urban deer"? Or will it ever come up in the explanation of how you killed it? Dumb-assed urban Image.

Oh, by the way I go out my back door and sit in a stand about 50 yards away within an area called a city. That is why I walk in backwards, confuses the crap out of the wife and the deer as well...They cant tell if I am coming or going... Image

You killed 4 or 5 of those dumb city deer this year. What the hell are you talking about? You need to be called TTTim Jr. Now, a big buck is a big buck, and once they reach 3.5 years old, they are hard to kill regardless of where they are at.

Oh, and to the rest of you bastages, leave me out of your conversations. I'm tired of getting picked on around here. Image

MoCraig, now that you mention it. I believe the Tires I had on the ford were called High Country. I didn't think Toyo made em.

This is the bonafied truth here. This year, I finally found "the spot" to kill a pretty nice buck on the HFA I think. In fact, I think I would have gotten one this past year had I moved my stand correctly after the first time I saw him. But, that is beside the point. Back to my story; these deer are coming off of my neighbor's property. He has never killed even a decent buck over there and I tell you it is prime during the rut. Where these bucks travel is about 100 yards from his house and he doesn't even know it. It took me 2 years to figure it out. I had to move my stand in 75 yard increments before I finally got their travel route figured out, but that is about what it took over on the "perfect stand" as well.

Deer aren't as wary of people as folks think, but they are much sneaker that we give them credit for.

Just sticking with the obvious theme.

Good luck on the "perfect stand II" Dr Snake.

Now that I think about it, my father inlaw has property 12 miles east of Clinton, where a deer trail comes from a neighbors property, and goes within 70yds or so of the neighbors house.

HA! Proof that open country deer are just as dumb as city deer.

What is wierd, is that right across the road is Corpes of Engineer land that is open to the public and hunted hard. Any deer that makes it through a season there has earned it, but again, they travel within 100yds of houses, when cover is available farther away.
