2-12-2005 LOZ

Post by Bruce Carpenter » February 14th, 2005, 1:18 pm

Fished for crappie about three hours and boated 16 crappie, one short the others 11 and 12 inch fish. Used jig and minnow, fish suspended 6 ft down over brush and structure. Lite bite and really had to pay attention to detect the subtle hits. Caught 14 on Sunday and one short one, in about the same amount of time. Scouted some alternate locations on Sunday. Very muddy water that was getting more muddy as the rains continued. Go when you can and say hello when we meet. Bruce Image Image

Bruce,

Congrats on the good trip!!

You ever use the crappie nibblets to tip your jig with? I see you use the jig and minnow alot. I have used them and not used them but have yet to make up my mind if they make a difference.

They work. That's all the more information that my fishing partner will allow, infact, it may have been too much. Image

Try a test. Use the nibbles, and have someone in the boat, using a plain untipped jig. Unless they're on a stong bite, you should see the trend pretty quick.

I have 2 uncles who fish Truman about 300 days a year, and they swear by them.
