Loss of a close family friend.

Post by counts » March 13th, 2005, 9:08 pm

I just want to remind everyone to be thinking of those who serve our communities as firefighters. We lost a close family friend last week. Jerry Buhne was the fire chief of Affton fire district where my dad served as a firefighter and retired as a Capt. after 30 years. He lost his life to a two bit thief trying to make an escape after stealing some cheap watches from Walgreens. May his family find peace in these days following their loss.

I hope the perp. lives to regret the life he stole.

That definately was a bad deal. I did not know him personally but know many fire service leaders in the area and talked to some over the last couple of days. He was definately a respected leader and the community will suffer his loss for a long time.

God bless Chief Buehne and his family.
