Found a decent shed.

Post by Warmouth » March 7th, 2005, 12:21 pm

58" 5pt without counting the sticker on the g-2. I fudged the g-4 measurement, it had been gnawed on already so I inserted a 1", I have no idea what the full length would have been. 21.5 mainbeam. It didn't have a lot of mass, so I think it has to be a 3yr old, maybe a 4yr, but I believe he is going to be bigger next year. Would have been around 133" with a 17" spread, and the other side matching.

At least I know there is a good'en out there to hunt in '05, could be my biggest one yet, if he adds 18-20" this year.

Good deal Dave. You generally have to put in some alot of hours to find a shed that good.

I did "put in some alot of hours." Image

3rd trip looking for sheds, first one worth picking up. I spent about 2-4hrs each trip. This one was in my hunting ground though, and I have already found two better stand locals than where I had been hunting, within 50-60yds of previous stands, but a lot better traffic.

I have my paths, and shooting lanes cut, even put in screw steps to get up and see what it looked like fom 15+ft.

I'm going to get him. Image

That makes it even better. Congrats on that find.

Sounds like a good one. I haven't had a chance to get out and look any. My Pops has found a couple little ones on our place so far this year. Oh, and you'd better be careful posting something with a title like that. Bornbad likes to shoot sheds Image
