LOZ 5-15

Post by Bruce Carpenter » May 16th, 2005, 9:46 am

caught limits both days this weekend and spent more time on the road than fishing! 10-12 inch fish on jig and minnow 10-12 feet down in 15-30 feet of water. tightlining! around docks and structure. Visited one conservation agent that checked Image three guys on Friday with 126 crappie, think they will receive a big fine from the judge! most were not even 9 inch fish! Image Image

Do you favor any jig color over another? Do you change jigs often to try and find a hot color combo, or do you just cover enough water with the jig you are using that it is put infront of enough fish that you will get bites?

I use three or four basic colors or color combo's, and don't switch much fom those proven jigs. Are you the same way, or are you constantly trying to find the hot color for the day?

Thanks

Me and my husband caught our limit saturday on MTL. We were checked by the conservation agent too. He was going up the creek checking everybody. We were nice and legal. We each had 15 on separate stringers. That is the first time we were checked.

Before MOCraig corrects this, allow me. "My husband and I..."

I check all data and determine what is working then start with that, tweaking it until the bullseye is hit! Often we start off with slightly different colors in the morning until the better is figured out, then everyone switches to the effective color.

Bruce: I am not terribly darn concerned about what color of jig you are using. Now, I could use the GPS co-ordinates to the docks that you are fishing. That would be a major help. PS

For once I have to agree with PS...those GPS coordinates would be most appreciated. Image Thinking about taking the boy fishing down there this weekend.

I can't find my gps, but I did leave bread crumbs on the water to find my way back next time!! Excellent comments but can't find those coordinates!
