Truman Tailrace

Post by Jenny » May 19th, 2005, 12:38 pm

After getting some much needed rain last week the lake levels have risen and we have seen the water running most days and well into the evenings. This has stirred up the fishing at The Tailrace as expected. The whites and hybrids have been hitting on top water in the evenings and some mornings. Starting to hear of some 7-11 pound Hybrids being caught. The crappie continue to bite well most days as well as into the night, but when they turn the water up you have to shift gears to find them in the eddies and current breaks. Catfish have been on the bite as well. Lots of 10-20 and smaller, a few 30-40's as well as continued stories of the big ones that got away. The weather looks to stay pleasant through the weekend, but with the spring we've had so far nothing would surprise me.
