Re: MWAA Lake Stockton Open, July 9-10
That would be July 9-10, launching out of State Park Marina.
Tournament hours 7 - 3 daily, four fish limit for single angler / six fish limit for two man team. MWAA membership not requred to enter. Tournament entry fee: $110 for MWAA members (only one team member required to be MWAA member),
$120 for non-members. 80% Payout, with cash prizes each day, along with big fish each day. Entry fee includes a picnic style bbq dinner Saturday night. After the meal, there will be a large raffle. Rumor has it that it will be even bigger than last year. Raffle tickets are a buck each.
Friday evening there will be a pre-tournament meeting at the gazebo at the State Park Marina ramp to go over rules, answer questions, get take off numbers, etc. Friday evening socialization will include a fish fry and smoke brisket informal get together at the Treehouse just up the hill from the marina. Gary will probably have a couple of signs out pointing the way. Anything I forgot or got wrong, PD???? Double check the tournament hours...I am 800 miles from my paperwork...........Friday evening will be a great time for the newer MWAA members to meet everybody, and pick up on the latest disinformation that will be flowing like wine.

Re: MWAA Lake Stockton Open, July 9-10
Oh yeah....last year, prizes were awarded to six places. The number of places paid is based on the number of boats entered. The more boats entered, the more places paid.

Re: MWAA Lake Stockton Open, July 9-10
One correction and one addition, the entry fee does not include the dinner, that is and extra cost, I think $6:50 or $7.50. Also if we can commit to at least 25 meals the state park resturant will open at 5:00 and serve a buffet style breakfast the cost will be 7.50. If you think you will want to utilize that let me know, we will sell advance tickets for all the meals Fri. night, but I need to know if it looks like we'll get 25 for the breakfast.
Re: MWAA Lake Stockton Open, July 9-10
Thanks, CW. Correction: the dinner is not included. It's like 6 or 7 bucks. Very nice. It'll be held at the North Shelter at Stockton State Park. Definitely bring some extra cash for raffle tickets and auction items--this is the primary fundraiser for MWAA for 2005 (for habitat, education and charitable programs), and it'll be the best raffle you've ever been in, with the best chance to win, guaranteed. Our sponsor list so far includes Bass Pro Shops, Uniden, Falcon Rods, Maui Jim, Rod Saver, St. Croix Rod, Aqua Vu, Eagle Claw, Dual Pro, Daiwa, Okuma, Pro Mariner, Magellan, Wave Tamer, SeaSense, Coleman, Northland Tackle, Minn Kota, Star-Brite, Tru-Turn, Berkley/Pure Fishing, Arkie Jigs, The Next Bite, Uncle Josh, Luhr Jensen, Plano, Igloo, Lindy/Little Joe, Lowrance, Schumacher, Cabela's, Costa Del Mar and more. Plus, there's...
FREE BEER!!! (soda & water too)
This is a 2-day event, run as two separate one-day tournaments. Entry fee includes the big fish pot. Takeoff and weigh-ins are at the State Park Marina gazebo. Early entries are preferred; if you can't get your entry in ahead of time, you can get 'er done at the rules meeting on Friday nite. Oh yeah--FREE BEER there, too. And at the weigh-ins.......

Re: MWAA Lake Stockton Open, July 9-10
'Scuse me on the Friday evening bbq dinner...it's well worth the meager cost. Last year it was catered by the nice folks at Stockton Mini-Mart, and they did a bang-up job.
Everybody was stuffed to the gills, and there was food left over. I presume they will do the honors again this year.
PD....go ahead an put my name on one of those St. Croix rods, one of the Lowrance big screen GPS units, and a couple of the thousand yard smoke color Firelines in 10 lb test....I will buy the three raffle tickets to cover them well before the raffle starts.
Seriously though, walleye guys....the raffle is a lot of fun, and you can win some great gear, but the odds will be against you unless you spend a few bucks on tickets.
CW would like to be the first to start the trash talking by stating unequivocally that Team Table Rock is fully prepared, tournament tested, got new high tech gear, and will be in the money this year. We also have the best apres-get together nightcap service around, except possibly for the Treehouse, which should be put in the "professional" category. So if you are figuring on putting TTR's money in the bank, you'd better bring your 'A" game.
One small question: is this still a "catch and release" tournament, or is MDC encouraging a keep your catch tournament due to high water temps? If it is a keep your catch tournament, and some of you don't want your walleyes, CW will be glad to take them off your hands, fillet them out, and make sure they go to a good cause later. Same deal with any pre-fishing walleyes that you bring in. I will be in the park motel unit #8 with a fridge, so I can keep the filets cold. Remember...that's CW and not some of the last minute wanna be's!

email: patstevefish@aol.com Sorry, i forgot to give you this.
Re: MWAA Lake Stockton Open, July 9-10
We have no choice. We strongly prefer a catch-and-release tourney, but because other events forced this to be held in mid-summer, with water temps well into the 80s, we've gotten permission from MDC to catch-and-keep.
They really need to swim off strongly, otherwise they'll turn up as floaters later.

Re: MWAA Lake Stockton Open, July 9-10
Will the keg be at breakfast both mornings? PD and MNwalleyeGuy will probably need something to wash the taste of food down before they hit the water.
mizfisher: it is possible that some of the guys do not have your email, so I will suggest that they send you a PM as well. That should cover all the bases, and I don't get hauled into Judge Judy's court for posting your email address out here on a public forum.

Re: MWAA Lake Stockton Open, July 9-10
I did not remember what Steve J had said about the retention of caught walleyes for this tourney. However that does not keep me from doing a bit of preliminary begging for unwanted fish, now does it? I don't need a whole bunch of them, but I have freezer space, and a good supply might be the basis of a fish fry get together next fall when it cools down a bit.....

Re: MWAA Lake Stockton Open, July 9-10
Looks like a return to the good old days when it took a mere five or six pages of posts to simply go fishing down on Bull Shoals. No telling how much space we can use up with a full blown two day tournament....CW can probably break the two grand post count with just the Stockton tournament.

CW,
The BBQ dinner and raffle is Sat. night, not Friday night.
