Results?????????

Post by bullitt » July 12th, 2005, 2:56 pm

When can we expect the tourney results? I checked the club site and it's not posted yet.
All you guys have posted are some vague references to day 2 comebacks, deep fish, and losing raffle tickets!
Post up! Who finished where?
Who got CW all likkered up so that he broke all his stuff and cut his hand? (Sounds like an expensive weekend CW)
Did PD's boat still run ok with the trailer attached?
Inquiring minds, blah,blah,blah.....
Did any of you guys actually cash a check?
Rehab is for quitters.

bullitt....now that you mention it, the details of what transpired to lead up to my injuries are beginning to come back. The rock cut on my hand will quickly heal, but the injury to my psyche may take months, or even years of expensive therapy.. Image..that ReelXTC guy was plying everybody with cold frosty cans of some kind of alcoholic drink, and obviously I was still partially incapacitated the next morning when I tripped over that cable. Image CW has never been accused of being "light on his feet", but that cable didn't budge an inch...
The broken rods were merely victims of bad timing. I broke one setting the hook on a substantial rock. With 14 lb Fireline and a 2 0z botton bouncer, an ultralight rod doesn't have much left to give. My bad. The other one was in the back of my Explorer, and something must have fallen on it...no evidence of a crush or anything, but it was definitely broken. There was nothing close to it that could have broken it, either. I ended up with a "modified" rod from the pieces of the pair, so it's not a total loss.
PD will have to explain in detail what happened with the boat launching deal. I've never, ever had anything like that happen to me, so the concept of trying to launch a big Lund Tyee with the bow strap still attached is completely outside my realm of experience.......(a quote from Larry The Cable Guy can go here)....In spite of all that happened to me and my stuff, it was a very enjoyable weekend. Had a great partner, we got along fine, and I saved a lot of time by not having to make a trip to the bank to put a check in the account. Image It don't git no better than that!

CW....thank God the FireLine survived!

One has to be careful with those "frosty alcoholic" drinks. They are sneaky little bastards that can creep up on a person.

Give me a call if you need some replacement rods. I think I can help you out.
AGH...lost it....She pulled down my pants and all she did was giggle.

PM coming your way.............and thanks again for all of your support from the nice folks at Berkley. The Fireline not only survived, but I could feel every little rock, crevice, and hangup on the bottom as my spinner rig got caught up in it. The high quality mono indicated a hangup only when the rod started bending. Seriously, though...there is a major difference in the "feel" transmitted up by the bottom bouncer when using Fireline. Can't imagine live bait fishing without it.

Well, here it is wed and the mwaa website still hasn't updated, I think we went from a bad situation to a worse one. Until we get our own website that we can update we basically have nothing.

Rome wasn't buit in a day, but I agree that MWAA really needs a website that can be updated locally instead of somewhere up by the Canadian border. I'm nowhere close to a computer geek, but as I understand the way web sites work, there could be designated "administrators" who can input from here, and the webmaster up there would be utilized only for heavy duty fixes or upgrades.
