Great day on B.S,

Post by meat man » July 19th, 2005, 10:28 pm

Arrived at diamond city this morning @ 7 am .Fished a couple of new spots. The bite started late around 9 or so,3 shorts first then a 24 incher and 3 fish bewteen 17 and 20. Then more shorts , then @2 I went to a flat everyone fishes ,marked some fish trolled them first nothing went to leeches, then a 17 incher ,then some body must have had there bonoclars in hand they were there in 2 minutes or less. Nobody else around, they stayed within 100 yards of me till I left. The funny thing they had a nice fish on , got it to the boat the netter knocked it off Image and about two minutes later I neted a 21 incher in front of em Image. But all in all a great day on B.S. That's what I figured, I tell you a funny story last year me and my father-in-law put in there at Lead Hill and the big motor would not start and it is a 2 hr drive for us down there so we was not going to just head back home so we use the trolling motor and head out for this flat we are talking about we spend close to 10hrs just on this spot cause thats far as we can go, after 5 or 6 hrs there is boats all around us some of them getting a little to close if they would have only knew why we spent all day there! That is bad that your big motor failed, but funny story.I believe it though, people are funny that way. I like finding new spots, today I found one,a dandy, hope it holds fish the rest of summer . They were deeper today than they have been. Did not stay long there,I did not want company there at all.

If you really want to draw a crowd, kick out a bright yellow marker bouy. I gotta make me some bouys out of driftwood, or use an old jugline. Image

Bullitt, on the flat these guys are talking about, if you threw out a marker buoy, somebody would be there to catch it before it hit the water. Image Image Image

Nice going, MM! Sounds like those tailpipers really weren't much of a problem. Plenty of water out there, usually, unless you're trying to troll a contour.

What depth are you finding your fish, if I may ask?

Getting ready to head down to Bull Shoals. Hoping to get some fishing done up in the k Dock area. All that i have running on my boat is my trolling motor. So I will prolly stick to spinners and jigs.

Just got back from bull shoals all i caught were bass gar and bluegail, used my neighbors jon boat and trolled. Around the corner from k dock someone limited out on eyes i guess all over 20. Pulling Cranks in 30ft of water. That is the only spot i didnt try.
