No, it was between the strings. But, it wasn't installed correctly like the other one was when the string was put on. I knew sooner or later it would either pop out or break off the way it was hanging in there. But, I didn't notice it until I got home from the bowshop so I didn't worry about it. Hopefully, once I get it back in there, I'll get everything tuned and sighted as it was before. As far as the type, they are just those S looking jobs made by limbsaver that you insert between the strings. I guess I could have had each of them served in, but the one that is installed correctly is fine.

Tie them in. The other one may ,in time, come out. An ounce of prevention and all that.

My answer to 170 is absolutely not. Especially the average archer.

This bow here seems to be a little more difficult to handle than previous bows.

Why wouldn't you expect that wiht a little short bow.

Are you keeping track of which arrows are wobbling? Maybe there is nock alignment problems. I have had a couple of carbons that just would not fly, especially with bh's no matter what I did to them.

Not directed at you PS, but I never understand why so many guys proclaim a preferce for a short bow but then can't explain why their hunting accuracy (at animals) goes downhill. When you have an unforgiving setup, and you aren't shooting in the backyard with perfect posture and conditions, chit is gonna happen.

I would expect exactly that from a shorter A to A bow. In fact, I said the exact same thing about my previous 2 or 3 bows. Nothing is more forgiving than a 48" Laser Magnum and that is shooting fingers. I have no preference for a shorter bow. I would rather have a bow that is about 34" axle to axle. But, I had a preference for a new bow and last year that bow was the chit. Had I waited a year, I would have either a Bowtech or a Switchback. But, I will kill 4 or 5 good bucks with this bow and sell it like I have all the rest of my bows.

Now, it was with every arrow I was shooting at the target and I attributed it to either worn out fletching or the fact that the silencer had popped off of the string. Being as my fletching are completely forked up from shooting through the biscuit for 2 years, I decided not to shoot those arrows through paper. So, I got 2 different shafts that are brand new, shot through paper only 3 times, and got the exact same tear 3 times. So, the only thing I can figure is that the bow is out of tune. Previously, All I had to do was rotate the biscuit when you get wear on one side of it. Instead of that, I changed out the biscuit this time to elimate that being the source of the problem. I have not shot the bow and will not do so until I get the silencer put back in. Ifn' that doesn't solve it, I will guess it to be a timing issue on my cams and I'll have to twist the string once or twice. But, I don't think this is the issue as my peep has not rotated even a milimeter since I put this WC string on the bow. Another source could be nock pinch on the D-loop. Last year, I had serving tied below the nock and the loop tied below that. This year the loop rest right up against the nock. Punching the trigger could be the source of the problem when shooting continually, but I pulled good shots off on paper and still got 3 identical tears. So, I don't think that is it. Especially since I have been shooting like that for a few months. Regardless, I will figure it out.

actually tell the difference when shooting an arrow with a straightness tolerance of +/-.001, and +/-.006? The .006 arrows seem to be much more affordable than the "better" arrows. I know it`s a stupid question. I`m just knocking some of the rust off the bowhunting forum before we start getting busy on here. Image

There are a number of different ways to check the tolerance, just shooting them is NOT one of them! Here is a question for you, Is the +/- .001 tolerance measured over the entire length of the shaft IE did QC just check 2 or 3 places?

But earlier you said you shot 2 perfect arrows, then 2 wobbled.

I have noticed a slight varience if I loose (break) one of my sims string leeches.

What I was saying is that I can shoot 4 perfect shots and I would notice the 2 shots wobbling. Could have been that I wasn't even paying attention to the other 2 shots, but I would constantly see some arrow wobble every round of shooting. Then, over the weekend, I went out and paid very close attention to arrow flight each and every shot as it has been on my mind. It was happening every shot at 20 yards and distances even closer. So, I knew something was up. Then, I got out 2 brand new shafts and checked things out. Severe low left tears each of the 3 shots.

Usually, hand torquing will cause a right-handed shooter to hit left. This is very true in my case. But, I thoght maybe that it was punching the release. So, I took my time and didn't punch, and still saw a problem. Oh well, gotta fix it soon.

Well, got everything set up over lunch and I may be ever so slightly nock high. First shot was a perfect bullet hole and the next two looked to be slightly nock high. I'll worry about that later... and such.

Im too lazy to check back through all of the post, but have you replaced your string lately. I had the same problem once and it was because of the string having stretched, and such. I couldnt get any consistency with my groupings..If it has been mentioned before forget it, and such.
That's funny you don't look Druish.

Triton: I replaced the string in the spring. That is when they put the silencers in there and one was not installed properly. Yesterday, I took care of that and paper tuned. Shooting bullet holes once again. Wanted to check my left and right so I drew a vertical line on a sheet of paper with a horizonal line for reference. At 10 yards, I hit the vertical line first shot. Second shot, I scoped the first arrow. What sucked was these were my two brand new shafts. But, that isn't bad. I shot two more shafts and one was inside of the two scoped arrows hole and one was to the right. Now, I just need to set my vertical for 30 yards once again and I should be fine. PS

You ever try bare shaft tuning, PS?

You know 170, I never really have other than at 20 yards. I never have through paper and a good friend of mine was doing it before he died back in the early 90s. I did it a few years back where I got bare shafts to impact very close to fletched shafts at 20 yards. However, even though they were impacting, they were erractic in flight which scared the heck out of me. It worked, but I was skeered to try it again.

Do you bareshaft tune through paper or do you do it as the Easton guide says to do at 20 yards?

I've always paper tuned with bare shaft at about 4-5yds.
