Bassmasters Classic

Post by Triton X2 » July 30th, 2005, 10:32 pm

Since today was day 2 of the Classic, I thought I would report that Aaron Martens is leading after the second day with a whooping total of a little over 9 lbs. The classic is being held in in Pittsburgh Penn. The final weigh in is tomorrow afternoon. MikeI is in second place and I think KVD is third....If someone would weigh in a 7 lb bag tomorrow he would pro win in easily, but that isnt going to happen either...Must really be tough Image

ESPN 's coverage is terrible as they only show the guys who
going to make a scene for the cameras...I would call them "sponsor whores"....Course, if I was in their place...........?

Is Iaconnelli still out there going berserk and screaming when he catches a good one? He looks like a gang banger, but that boy can catch some bass!

At least someone with a bit of decency won the classic today...Kevin Van Dam won it with about 12 lbs. for 3 days fishing..I think MikeI was 3rd and Aaron Martens ended up second....I think the largest fish of the 3 days was a tie at 2-14.....What a fishery.

Thanks for the report....Hausfrau walked in after the 3rd or 4th guy weighed in and announced it was time to take her to Sunday dinner in town....KVD is a class act. Glad he won.
I think there is a prophecy from Nostradamus that says "Never shall a fisherman from the West Coast win the Bass Master Classic.", but Martens was pushing hard. Love the "DO", dude.

I was really badmouthing the fishery for a while also. Then I decided why not put these hot rods on a tough fishery? It's not much fun to watch, but I think it's a good test to see who is the best fisherman.
Maybe they should have put them on LOZ or TR this time of year and see who survives the boat ride!

I`m just glad Iaconelli didn`t win it. That guy gives me a headache.

Bullitt, you are right but what does it say for the Pittsburgh area as a fishery that people would want to go to and fish....I dont think I will be going any time soon.... Image Image

YEAH, I was kind of pulling for Martens, but was hoping Davey Hite could pull another stringer like he did on Saturday..I could have done without him dancing in his boat though...Some of those guys need to act like they have caught a fish before...Show some enthuasism yeah, but not show everyone your mental attributes.... Didn't see it, but I heard it was like a pro wrestling show, with sparklers and smoke and music and dramatic introductions. And such.

When it's an all day off-and-on affair on ESPN, you can bet it will be an extravaganza. At least they had the guys come in, weigh their fish and leave. Watch one of the FLW weigh ins some day...high drama that is. If some guy brings in enough to top your weight, you get to go back and take additional fish to the scales...one at a time if need be.
I thought I saw Vince Macmahon up in the production booth of one of those. Not to worry...when the walleye circuits start tossing around the money that the big bass circuits have, then we can see PD in the weaving spotlights, coming up to the scales in a spandex fishing suit and an official foam Cheesehead fishing hat. CW will be driving the pickup pulling PD's boat. CW don't do spandex any more.

CW, now you know why I like to keep my glittersled so shiny. I hope to go under the M.W.A.A spotlight someday. Dont want to be dirty for the camera crew.Ya dont have to catch fish, but you gotta look cool! Image Image

CW, are you saying PD would look like a sparkling Skeet Reese? Now that is not what I want to spend in my head for the rest of the day...........I hear voices in my head and I dont think they like you Image

I think we got PD and PB mixed up here. No glitter on my sled. I'll just run it up on the rocks and walk the bag over myself, thanks. Proud of those scars!

Why would anybody have a fiberglass boat in the Ozarks? Ain't nothin' but big scratchy rocks and brushpiles around here... and by big scratchy rocks I mean Missouri big scratchy rocks.
