I know that is a fact. The deer over around P. Home and a bit west differ greatly to those even over by Wooldridge/Overton.

PS - You only catch heck because you're always posting up how big a buck you're gonna kill...then you smack a sammich and post that up too! Plus, people know that's an effective "needling" tool! Image

No kidding. You didn't see me post up last years archery buck I killed. Image Ground shrinkage, even worse photo shrinkage. I don't like to talk about it, in fact I've said to much already. Image

OF: I have never once stated anything about the quality of the deer I am going to kill. Never. I don't even talk about that to close friends of mine in fear of getting jinxed. Now, I do like to joke about the quest for the 160". PS

Oh yeah, you are liable to hear that from time to time still yet. But, I'll be having a CL in one hand and a Texas grin on my face for sure. In all seriousness, I am scared to talk about killing big bucks in fear of never seeing another.

Now c'mon PS...I ain't got the time and energy to go looking for posts. But I remember a lot of BS flowing last fall about what you were hoping to see/kill and what you weren't going to kill in this quest for the mystical 160. I realize a lot of it was in jest, but when you talk about how you're on a quest for a 160 and then are goofy enough to post up that you killed a sammich buck, you gotta expect a little heat! Image You'd have been better off just saying that you whacked a couple of does and left it at that. Image

You search it out. You will never find any mention of me predicting of killing a certain sized animal ever. Now, I have been talking in jest about the quest for the 160 for 2 years. But, that is a bit different. You will never hear me make any mention of a particular sized animal of which I am going to shoot because I am very serious about this being jinxed crap. Superstitious I know, but you won't find it because I know darn good and well I'll screw up and shoot something and have to eat my words.

Now, that is not to say I don't deserve some heat when I kill an animal that I truly wish I hadn't. Like this argument last year. I have shot one I knew beforehand that I shouldn't have shot. That was the year I went to IL. All other deer, I was in a situation that I don't regret. I do wish the deer had another 10" on them, but I can't take it back. The one deer of which I mention, however, I should be crucified for killing that deer, and he was a darn nice deer.

Make me eat them. Find one place where I have predicted that I would kill a 130" deer and nothing less. Now, I have stated that I need to learn to do that very thing. But, I may not be capable of it. 2B came up with some jive where I had stated I wouldn't shoot anything less than a 150" deer. Now, since I have only killed one of that caliber, I'll shoot every 14 of those that I see. Image

Keith@aimlow wanted to start a post a few years back about the quality of bucks the CCGC was going to kill that year. It was in jest, but I could have no part of it in fear of the Deer Gods.

It's bad luck to be superstitious PS. Just knock on wood and carry a rabbits foot, it'll all work out. Image

Well, I am superstitious about everything to some point. I mean, I am very religious and all in that I feel God wills everything for some reason or another. That includes killing big bucks.

...or not killing big bucks. Which, I'm afraid, is the category you fall in this year my son.
