I was watching the game with my 8 year old. That was awesome. I am a big Eckstein fan. Here is a guy who has been told he doesn't have what it takes all of his life. He was too small. He was too slow. The kid guves 120% every day...

I believe he had to walk on at college to get on his team too..He may not look like the prototypical shortstop, but he will do what it takes to win.

He gives 120% just getting out of the dugout getting to SS position. He sprints out there while everyone else just walks or does a slow jog into position. You gotta love a guy like that.

He is no Renteria, but instead of throwing people out at first by 3 steps, he throws em out by less that a step...Who cares, they are still out, arent they....
Here is another thing about him that I have noticed. He a an ideal lead off man. I went to St Louis the night that Pujols hit the homer in the bottom of the 13th, and I counted up the number of pitches he made Andy Petite throw up until the 7th or 8th inning and it was in excess of 35 pitches, and with the 100 pitch count most major league pitchers are allowed to throw, he made Petite throw almost a third of his pitches to just one batter...Just a thought

I'm proud to say that my son and I were at the game yesterday. Awesome ending, too bad we were in the car heading home when it happened!!!!

My son, who's 7 was ready to leave in the top of the 9th, it was hot, so I obliged.

We recorded the game so watched it when we got home.

Sounds l like me when Pujols hit the homer in the 13th. We were well past Cuba when he connected....Our wives said in the 8th, they were only thinking about us and our long drive home...The thing was it was in the 8th inning and the score was tied....

Triton - I was at the same game, and the same thing happened to us. My son was ready to go, and I watched Pujols hit it while sitting on the couch. That would have made for a long night for the young one.
