7 bucks

Post by hunting170 » August 18th, 2005, 12:15 pm

Saw seven bucks together in a bean field Sunday evening. Unfortunately they saw me first. I could tell that the four biggest were still in velvet. They were only 300 yards from the girlfriend`s house. I gotta knock on some doors very soon.
One day, long, long ago, there lived a woman who did not whine, nag, or bitch.
But it was a long time ago, and it was just that one day.

Did I tell you about the 35 bucks I saw within a mile of the HFA before the farmer declared war on all the deer? I had one group of 12, one group of 10, one group of 7, and some others. 4 or 5 of those bucks were 150 class. I was stoked until the farmer started killing everything in sight.

2B: I saw a group of 5 the other night and two of them were two of the big ones of which I speak. But, I have only seen them once and this was part of the group of 12 I saw. I am seeing nothing where I saw the group of 7 and some stragglers. The group of 10 is protected and I see them regularly. No hunting is allowed. Now, here is the kicker. I saw another group of 8 or 10 bucks on an 80 acre piece that I can hunt Monday evening. One of those bucks was a pretty good one, 130" I would guess. I was putting a stand up. The next night, Tuesday, they were in there shooting and they shot 12 times via spotlight in the 20 minutes I was listening. I plan to go out and search the field today to see what they killed. I am pissed.

Shooting at deer with spotlights doesn't bother the herd one bit.

PS, is thinking up excuses now, as to why he won't kill the 160 this year. He never killed him because of all the people shooting before the season, 5 miles away from where he normally hunts.
