I'm planning on hunting the HFA several times this year. Anytime after November 5th will be perfect, since PS is going to be a little busy for a while.

I just think 61 acres would seem crowded after a bit.

For rifle season, 2 people hunt. For bow season, no more than two as well. But, I don't care much for it when there are 2 people hunting it. But, we often see entirely different deer. 98% of the time, I am the only one hunting it.

I'm not saying it is impossible as I recognize it does happen. However, the area is landlocked for one. Secondly, there are 3 homeowners that call me every time they see anything odd anywhere near the HFA. Thirdly, I am out there enough to know ifn' someone were to try to drive in. There are never fresh tire or boot tracks going in the only feasible entrance, so my thoughts are that I'm pretty safe.

Do I wish I had 150 acres? Sure. But, I will live with what I have I guess. Considering the deer I have taken on such a small piece of property, I am pretty well satisfied.

61 is plenty to hunt if you are in a good location. With a few different draws and plots. You could get away with 2 or 3 bowhunters on it easy and hardly ever be hunting the same deer.

I'm not knocking MAHA....it's just not something I am interested in joining. It's probably a little better than paying for an exclusive lease on one piece of property unless it is a big one.

I had a trespasser park in front of my gravel road last weekend. At first I thought maybe it was a friend of the neighbor's, but they didn't know the truck either. First time this has happened since I bought the place. I think they were hunting the neighbor's since I walked my woods and checked out the good hunting spots. Since the truck partially blocked my road behind the gate, I had to squeeze by in the mud with my truck to get out of my property. Sorry about the mud sprayed all over that clean truck! Image

He's lucky my neighbor didn't find him there.

Do you think I care what you think? Hardly.
