Fish - I completely understand that I am not going to make the guy rich by buying his minnows. But I got pretty much the same response when I went in there looking for a deer rifle a few years back. And when I was in the market to buy a new bow. I have never met Tom, and he is prolly a great guy, and an astute businessman. But his salesmen were arrogant SOBs.

And really it shouldn't matter if I was in there for a dozen minnows or to restock my gun cabinet. You treat your customers with respect.
A clear conscience is the sign of a bad memory.

I used to live in Columbia over a year ago and there were other options besides Foster's to get stuff. For fishing, Tombstone Tackle was much better. Adam Wolf was the young man who owned it and he would help you out with knowlegable info if you needed it. Next door was Clearwater Fly shop and their personnel was typically helpful as long as other B.S. ers didn't interfere with them tending to customers (big problem with a lot of stores). Powder Horn Gun shop had career people there that knew their stuff too. Foster's sales people made me feel nervous- they followed me around the store WAY to much- as if I was going to shoplift or something. I once tested one of their salesboys by asking the the difference between Red Dot and Green Dot powder and he actually said "just the color of the dots". I knew then not to ask him any more questions that I did not already know the answer to! Asking for a certain type of lure was like speaking a foreign language to them.

Stopped in Foster's yesterday while I was in Columbia. If you take the 25% of the sticker price, it equated out to about what you could pay for at BPS. Not many great deals as this point.
McLintock, great party, but no whiskey. We go home.
