Anyone taking a kid out this weekend?

Post by kfahland » October 25th, 2005, 8:26 pm

I am preparing to take my oldest out this weekend. He has hunted with me the last 3 years, but this will be his first time holding the gun (and hopefully pulling the trigger).

Together, we built a 4x6 shooting blind overlooking a 2 acre field surrounded by cedars. This field has proven pretty bountiful in the past - hopefully this continues this year. Either way, I am sure it will be a memorable weekend.

Good luck to you 2! I will take Kristen to try for her 4th in 4 years. She got drawn for the Weldon Spring Youth hunt.

Robin - good luck to you and your daughter - 4 for 4 has a nice ring to it!

DjF - good luck to your son, hopefully he will get a chance to get out during the regular portion of the season.

I had to cancel taking my nephew due to work obligations. Bummer too. He took his first turkey with me last spring and sort of thinks I have all the wildlife connections.

I'm taking my son hunting this weekend.

If he doesn't score this weekend, I'll take him during the regular season.

I dunno, 'got my plans on fishing this weekend. I might be able to get my nephew out Sunday. I can not wait until my daughter can hold up a rifle.
