Yes we filmed it. She was so tired after lunch, she asked if she could lay on the ground and sleep. She slept for an hour, and we woke her up with a loud sequence on the grunt call. Funny footage. The footage of her kill really paints the picture of just how last minute it was, with me practically yelling at the deer to stop it, and the camera swinging over to catch up with the deer. She did an unbelievable job handling the gun alone and moving from one blind window to the other to get in position when the deer changed directions. She even asked Larry if he was ready after she took the safety off. That was after I explained to her that the filming was secondary to her hunting.

What is her age and shooting set up, if you don't mind?

I have a 7yr old that is a bit small for hunting this past weekend, but I'm thinking about next year.

Shooting sticks, blind, cartridge, etc? Thanks.

She is 12 now and shooting a 25-.06, 100 gr bullet. Her first and 2nd deer was shot with a single shot .243 (ages 9 and 10), I think 100 gr bullet. That .243 kicked much less. She shot her first deer out of a blind, using the window for rest, same for the 4th. The second she shot off hand, up close on a drive. The 3rd she shot out of buddy stand, with shooting rail for rest.

We only used the blind instead of the stand at Weldon, because they didn't allow stands. She cannot shoot the 25-.06 without a rest of some sort.

That's only because she has witnessed the donkey chewings you have given the rest of us for not making sure that quality footage comes first.

Congrats to both of you! That's a great way to finish off the weekend.

So did she do the field dressing too, or did you get that honor?
